Celtic Cross Reading No. 1
August 18th 2006 00:48
Hi all,
This is my first entry in this blog, the title of which would give you a good idea of what this space is going to be about: cards in general, Tarot Cards in particular.
I've been drawn to cards ever since I learned the first card game when I was still in primary school. I guess it's not surprising to know that I am also interested in numerology. At this point, I no longer know which blossomed first, my love for the cards or the numbers themselves, which happens to be present in the cards.
In high school, I started reading for fiends and romantic couples using regular cards. We'll get to that topic some time soon.
For now, I want to share with you a reading I've done for a friend.

I've been interested in Tarot Cards since two years ago, when I heard some friends talking about it. I bought my first Tarot Cards Deck, a Celtic type, last year and immediately started studying the symbols and subsequently reading for close friends.
Tarot cards reading: It's complex, it's simple. One card has a specific meaning. At the same time, a card can tell many stories. I make it even more complicated by not requiring my friends to tell me their questions, or even its general field. I just let the cards find out by cosmic telepathy.
The faithful energy I direct towards the concept of cosmic telepathy has been working somehow. That's if my friends are not lying. Because they always tell me they get to answer their questin, somehow, even without verbalizing the question to me in the first place.
Further, before dealing the cards, I usually ask my friends to place their hand on top of the deck so the cards are able to "interact with" and "sense" them.
In Tarot Card reading, the reader can only be an interpreter. But the meat and essence of the reading is comprehensible only to the querent, or the one who has asked a question addressed to the cards.

Following is the most recent reading I've done.
(As I e-mailed to my friend) :
I didn't know your question and I had preferred not to ask so I let the cards choose a Significator for you. The Significator represents your general inquiry.
The Temperance as your Significator warns against the negative consequences of anything that you have been taking in excess. What could it be? Excessive excuses? Excessive sisig? (Haha!) Also, things may not be coming your way and you feel inhibited by the situation. Take responsibility for your self and know that sometimes we cause harm to our self with reckless abandon when in fact we can change the situation by making firm decisions. At the same time, accept that we don't have control over every single event in our life.
Covering Temperance is the Knight of Swords -- the advocate of Freedom of Speech and Information. With this as your first card, it seems you will not be able to exhibit temper until you are properly "informed."
Challenging Temperance is The Death Card. I'm not surprised that this card turned up in your reading. This is about closing a chapter, ending a book or making a permanent change. This can be a challenge or an opportunity. You decide on how you must look at the situation.
Crowning Temperance is the Queen of Coins/Pentacles. Sources say that Queens represent growth and development, or essentially, progressive change. It does not necessarily mean that you ought to stop doing what you have been doing; it could just mean that you ought to take the next step on the same ladder. And since this Queen is in the Crown position, it means that you do want to take the next step. Queen of Coins/Pentacles is specifically about realizing dreams. Don't ask me what the next step is. The cards already told you the challenge that you need to overcome.
Beneath Temperance is The Moon. The Moon in the Foundation position means that you are presently occupied by thoughts of dangers, darkness and uncertainties in your life. It can also be about deception and things you've done that you hope your parents wouldn't know. Or something like that. Basically, you wanna go from The Moon to The Queen of Coins/Pentacles.
On the "Past Position," the card of Three of Wands rests. This card is about something that has just happened or is still happening but about to end soon. Three of Wands is the "waiting-for-the-result card." Whether you've taken a pregnancy test, invested on a business, or taken an exam of any form; you have or will soon receive the result.
On the "Future Position" is the King of Wands. You've got royalties in your reading so let's try to connect them. The Queen calls for change, the Knight receives the order but the King will have the final say. You're the queen, the knight and the king. Do you make it happen? It seems you will be able to. King of Wands is the symbol of bold and sudden changes. He is spontaneos and adventurous. Seeing this King in the Future post after having learned of the surrounding cards can only mean that you will soon make that change and you will never be the same again. Warning about the King of Wands -- despite his fun-loving nature, he can be cold and distant. You may find your self struggling to express your self in the future but how could this happen to you, Mama?
Last four cards. I asked how you're doing. Five of Wands turned up. This is the training card. You want to stand out from the rest and be noticed. You've worked or trained hard and you want others to recognize how far you've come. But how do you do that without faith in yourself? This is a difficult time and the worst time to give up. Because you're almost there.
What are the energies influencing your cosmic house? The Empress, representing the Mother in each woman -- the one who nurtures, the one who protects and the one who hopes for the best for their child, or anything they've taken care of, for that matter. Career-wise, you will conceive many a brilliant idea as a creative person. Relationship-wise, you are likely to worry too much for the people you care about. Mothers rarely find time to take care of themselves, keep this in mind.
What are your hopes and fears? The Seven of Wands, representing a situation where you are under detractors' attack. You hate being misinterpreted and being the subject of nasty gossips spread by jealous colleagues. You try to be nice to everyone to avoid this situation but you know what to do if they still try to attack you. Just remain strong.
What is the potential Outcome of this reading? The Knight of Cups, The Romeo, The Prince Charming. After all the sad thoughts about romance, your knight comes home. This is one faithful Romeo who is inseparable to his loved one. If he loves you, you will know without doubt. However, this Romeo can be pretty moody but if that's the worst you have to deal with, then it couldn't be too bad.
Now what is this Romeo doing in the Outcome post? Is this your Romeo now or someone who's coming in the next chapter after you close the one that you're currently writing?
I don't know =)
